At Christos on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis we’ve served authentic Greek fare since 1988. Along with traditional fare, contemporary dishes from various regions of Greece are well represented. Our signature dishes are often specialties from the island of Cyprus. Traditional fare includes dishes such as Mousaka, Pastitsio, Spanakopita, Gyros, Dolmathes, Shish Ke Bab, Kotopoulo, and our famous broiled Oregano Chicken. Our flaming Saganaki appetizer, a square of Kasseri cheese from northern Greece, is fried on the griddle, then flamed tableside with brandy and doused with lemon juice. Opaaaah! More exotic dishes from Cyprus include Tavas, a Turkish lamb stew with potatoes and tomatoes, topped with melted feta; Hummus, the irresistible dip of middle-eastern origin; Sikotaki, an incredibly savory dish of sautéed chicken livers with red wine and a fresh vegetable sauce; and Octapodi, an delectable octopus stew in tomato sauce with cinnamon, bayleaf and peppercorns. A more contemporary dish, Kota Sto Phyllo is a boneless, skinless breast of chicken rolled around a mixture of sautéed leeks and spinach with feta and kasseri cheeses, then wrapped and baked in flakey phyllo pastry. Our Rack of Lamb is without a doubt bone-lickin’ good. An array of appetizers and platters makes it easy for our guests to sample the cuisine or dine family-style.

Our sparkling, airy Minneapolis dining room, with ample live greenery and numerous ornamental articles from our homeland, is reminiscent of an island taverna. You can also enjoy our fare in the neoclassical grandeur of the Union Depot in St. Paul’s Lowertown. In either place, you’ll find very affordable prices and exceptional, friendly service.

Our carefully selected wine list represents Greece well, but also includes selections from California and many of the world’s wine-making regions. We’ve received much-appreciated recognition, including repeated awards for Best Greek Restaurant by Mpls/St. Paul and Minnesota Monthly magazines as well as City Pages.
